Aaron J. Goldberg, Esq.
Aaron J. Goldberg is a native of Burlington, Vermont. He attended
grade school in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High
School in 1974, Brandeis University in 1979 (B.A.) and Suffolk
University Law School in 1982 (J.D., cum laude). He founded
the Elder Law & Trust Group in 1997. He is a member of the
Vermont Bar Association and the National Academy of Elder Law
Attorneys, and is a founding member of the Vermont Chapter of
NAELA. Mr. Goldberg's hobbies are genealogy, traveling, biking,
hiking, and skiing. He lives in Burlington with his wife, Rebecca
London Goldberg and their four children Dinah, Jesse, Tamar,
and Isaac (whose company created this website).
Mr. Goldberg
enjoys singing and performed in the 2006 Lyric Theatre production
of "Fiddler on the Roof." He currently sings bass with Social Band. He is also interested in local
history, serving as the Archivist of Ohavi Zedek Synagogue.
Mr. Goldberg is a former member and chairperson of the Burlington
Conservation Board. He is a former member of the United Way
Community Impact Team which focuses on children and elders.
He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Fern Hill Senior Housing Complex.
An avid supporter of the Burlington public schools, he is the
founder and former chairperson of the Board of Directors of
the Burlington Students Foundation.
Richard D. Hecht, Esq.
Rick Hecht is a New Yorker by birth and a Vermonter by choice,
having lived in Burlington since 2000. He has been an Associate
of Aaron J. Goldberg, PLC, since 2003. Rick is a 1987 graduate
of Hunter College High School in New York City. He earned a
B.A. in Biology from Swarthmore College in 1991, and graduated
from Northeastern University School of Law in 1995. In
addition to his traditional legal training, Rick has substantial
background and an enduring interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Rick graduated in 2003 from Woodbury College's one-year full-time
Mediation/Conflict Management Program. He is a former President
of the Vermont Mediator's Association. Rick and his wife,
Sharon Panitch, have three young children: Zoe, Toby, and Zander.
When he is not being run ragged by them, Rick likes to hike,
ski, canoe, kayak, and attend live musical events. He can also
occasionally be caught performing sketch comedy and improv comedy.
Geraldine E. Stewart, Esq.
Gerry is a native of Haverhill, Massachusetts. She earned
a B.S. from Merrimack College in 1985 with a concentration
in accounting. She worked for a certified public accounting
firm in Woburn, Massachusetts for almost four years before
pursuing her dream to become an attorney. She previously
was licensed as a certified public accountant in Massachusetts.
Gerry received her license as a certified public accountant
in Vermont in 1992 and her license is currently inactive.
She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Vermont Law School
in 1992. While attending Vermont Law School, Gerry served
as Editor-in-Chief of the Vermont Law Review during 1991-1992.
Gerry joined the firm in 2007 and focuses her practice
in the field of estate planning, elder law, guardianships
and probate administration. Prior to joining Aaron J. Goldberg,
PLC, Gerry was associated with a law firm in South Burlington, Vermont.
She is a member of the Vermont Bar Association.
Gerry
lives in Essex Junction, Vermont, with her husband and three children.
She enjoys hiking, biking, basketball, baseball, skiing,
running and coaching youth in sports and in life. She is
a middle school student ministry leader at Essex Alliance
Church. Gerry completed her first Burlington Half Marathon
in 2010.
